NOTICE!!!

A NEW ROUNDABOUT AT PARK AND MAGUIRE MEANS NEW TRAFFIC RULES FOR THE UPCOMING SCHOOL YEAR

There have been many changes to the intersection of Maguire Road and Park Avenue since school ended in June. The most significant change is the construction of a new roundabout. The Windermere Police Department would like parents who will be dropping off and picking up their children at the Windermere Elementary School to observe some VERY IMPORTANT CHANGES IN THE TRAFFIC PATTERN DURING PEAK SCHOOL HOURS.

Motorists WILL NOT be allowed to stop or park their vehicles in the roundabout or on Park Avenue. The traffic MUST be allowed to move smoothly through the roundabout.

ALL TRAFFIC exiting the school grounds will be directed by an officer to TURN RIGHT (westbound) onto Park Avenue. NO VEHICLES WILL BE PERMITTED TO TURN LEFT TOWARD MAGUIRE ROAD. They must go eastbound by traveling to Lake Butler Boulevard, and then travel east to Maguire Road.

The Windermere Elementary School will be allowing parents to “double stack” their vehicles in the school parking lot during afternoon pick up hours, instead of single file, which has been done in the past. Please allow additional time if you are dropping off or picking up children from the school or traveling through the intersection n of Maguire Road and Park Avenue during peak school hours.

If you have additional questions, please call the Windermere Police Department at 407-876-4336.

agencies to outline how they address traffic safety issues within

their communities. The agencies are judged on individual training

given to officers for the following:

  • Radar/laser speed measuring operation

  • Traffic homicide investigator

  • DUI investigations

  • Portable Breath Tester operato

Points are given to the agencies by FDOT for their participation in

programs such as:

-                    “Click it or Ticket”

                      “Over the Limit Under Arrest”

“You Drink You Drive You Lose”

These points can be used for traffic oriented

equipment that is available in an FDOT

catalogue.  The equipment is given to the

agencies by FDOT free and Windermere,
