Uniform Patrol: Our uniform patrol officers are the most visible representatives of the Windermere Police Department and they are the first responders to incidents. They respond to events by being dispatched from the 911 Emergency Telecommunications Center or by viewing a situation as it is occurring. We provide service around the clock, 365 days a year to ensure the needs of the Town of Windermere residents and the thousands visiting and driving through daily are met.

Uniform patrol officers get to know the area that they are assigned and the community members they serve. When not responding directly to calls, or providing backup to other officers, our uniform patrol officers use proactive time to combat possible crime, conduct traffic enforcement, conduct business and residential security checks as well as build community relationships with business and residential citizens through community oriented policing. Community policing is our top priority and our uniform patrol officers focus on continuously achieving the Windermere Police Department’s motto of “Honor, Integrity, Service” in everything they do.

Our uniform patrol officers come across a wide variety of incidents in their day-to-day work. Because of this, our uniform patrol officers are given extensive training in many different skill sets and attend multiple mandatory certification trainings annually throughout their careers.

Bike Patrol: Our bike patrol unit is a great way to provide additional safety and security within town parks, pathways, downtown business’s, subdivisions and the Town of Windermere’s many special events. This unit also allows our officers to further interact with the residents and visitors through community oriented policing.

School Crossing Guards: Our crossing guards play an integral role in protecting our children as they travel to and from school during some of the busiest traffic times. Please take a moment and say thanks to our crossing guards when you see them and remember to obey all school speed limit zones and crosswalks!
