Happy 4th July

Not Your Typical Fourth of July!

This year's 4th of July celebration in Windermere carries even greater meaning as our nation commemorates the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and we have a unique opportunity to reflect on the courage, vision, and enduring values that shaped the United States of America.

What better way to honor this historic milestone than by gathering together for Windermere's cherished Annual 4th of July Pancake Breakfast?

Join us from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Town Hall for a morning filled with delicious pancakes, patriotic pride, and the warm spirit of our community.

As part of this special celebration, Mayor Andy Williams will welcome Congressman Daniel Webster, U.S. Representative for Florida's 11th Congressional District, to the podium at approximately 10:30 a.m. to help commemorate this historic occasion. His participation will make an already meaningful morning even more memorable.

Families will also enjoy a special visit from "Betsy Ross," portrayed by Mrs. Joy Underwood. Through storytelling and conversation, she will bring to life the beloved American legend of the woman credited with sewing the first United States flag in 1776, giving our youngest residents a fun and memorable glimpse into our nation's history.

Of course, the true heart of this event is the people who make it possible. Long before the first pancake is served, dozens of dedicated volunteers will be hard at work greeting neighbors, cooking breakfast, serving families, and sharing smiles. Their generosity reminds us that the strength of a small town isn't measured by its size, but by the kindness and willingness of its people to serve one another.

As we celebrate our nation's 250th birthday and the freedoms we all cherish, we have just one request: come with hearts full of kindness, gratitude, and community spirit.

Together, let's celebrate not only America's independence, but also the friendships, traditions, and neighborly values that make Windermere such a wonderful place to call home.

We look forward to celebrating this special Fourth of July with you and your family!

Yours truly,

Lilian Colli
