This event is EXCLUSIVELY for residents of the Town of Windermere.
Help grow and protect our community’s tree canopy and urban forest by planting the right tree in the right place.

🌳While supplies last | First come, first served

🌿 Resident Requirements & Pickup Information

Must be a Town of Windermere resident
Proof of residency required at pickup
One (1) free tree per address
Picking up a tree for another Windermere resident? ➝ Please bring a copy of their driver’s license!
If trees are available, residents may purchase a second tree after 11:15 AM

Please review the mature height and width of each tree carefully before making your selection to ensure it fits your property.

🌳 Large / Canopy Trees

Eastern Red Cedar (Juniperus virginiana)	40'–50' tall x 8'–15' wide	• Drought-tolerant, wind-resistant, slow-growing

Southern Magnolia (Magnolia grandiflora – cultivar TBD)	Approximately 40'–80' tall x 30'–50' wide at maturity	• Evergreen canopy tree with glossy leaves and large, fragrant white flowers • High wind resistance • Specific cultivar (such as ‘Bracken’s Brown Beauty’ or ‘D.D. Blanchard’) will be determined based on availability

Pakistan Mulberry (Morus macroura)	30'–50' tall x 30'–40' wide	• Sweet fruit, adaptable, deciduous, can be messy

Longleaf Pine (Pinus palustris)	60'–80' tall x 30'–40' wide	• Plant at least 30 ft from buildings, slow-growing

Live Oak (Quercus virginiana)	60'–80' tall x 60'–100' wide	• Iconic Florida canopy tree • Not suitable for small lots, high wind resistance

Bald Cypress (Taxodium distichum)	50'–70' tall x 20'–30' wide	• Florida native deciduous conifer with soft, feathery foliage • Thrives in moist soils but adapts well to drier conditions once established • Excellent wind resistance and strong vertical form

Dahoon Holly (Ilex cassine)	20'–40' tall x 10'–20' wide	• High wind resistance, prefers moist or rich soils

Red Mulberry (Morus rubra)	30'–50' tall x 30'–50' wide	• Native Florida species, red fruit, deciduous, can be messy

Pink Trumpet Tree (Tabebuia heterophylla)	20'–40' tall x 20'–40' wide	• Showy pink flowers, moderate to low wind resistance
