West 2nd Avenue Construction / Week of Oct. 6th – Oct. 10th
The next few weeks will be extremely busy on West 2nd Ave. Please use 1st or 3rd Avenues for travel where possible.
Crews will be testing the waterline, installing storm water drainage, curbs, and lime rock this week. Here’s what to expect from Monday (10/6) through Friday (10/10):
- Road closure at the Main Street intersection for curb and sidewalk installation.
- Road closures at various locations from Main Street to Pine Street for pavement removal and installation of lime rock.
- Storm Drainage installation from 611 to 625 West 2nd Ave.
- Installation of lime rock for the curb West of Pine Street.
- Water Main testing from Pine Street to the end of West 2nd Ave.
Note that temporary daytime closures will be in effect.
PLEASE: Allow for extra travel time and drive safely!

The gas supply has been shut off, and repairs are in progress. The road is now open.

Grace Period: Park gates and tennis court gates will remain open for the first week of October. After this period, access will be restricted to holders of renewed passes.

- Pedestrian Entrance: Free for residents, with the same renewal process applying!

Lakes Cleanup Day - Sunday, November 2, 2025 - From 1:30 to 3:30 PM
Please help us keep Windermere’s lakes pristine!
November 2nd is our first "Lakes Cleanup Day" - An event for the whole family!
We will be meeting at Fernwood Park (632 Butler Street) at 1:15 pm for staging and to gather supplies.
Please wear closed-toed shoes and be prepared to walk down streets and through neighborhoods gathering trash to help prevent refuse from ending up in Windermere’s lakes.
Please ensure minors have an adult present!

🚧 Butler Stormwater Project Update 🚧
Over the next two weeks, construction will begin on swale and pond improvements at the Fernwood Boat Ramp and along Butler Street. The work will be performed by Valencia Construction, the Town’s selected contractor for this project.
• There will not be any road closures or impacts to driveways during this phase.
• The boat ramp will remain open and accessible throughout construction.
• Parking for those authorized to park at the boat ramp may be limited or impacted while work is underway.
We appreciate your patience as we complete these important stormwater improvements for our community.
